NAI Geis signs lease for 31,609
SF at United Plaza
PHILADELPHIA, PA – IPC US REIT, along with
leasing partner, NAI Geis Realty Group,
Inc. recently signed a long-term lease for
31,609 s/f at the United Plaza, located
at 30 S. 17th St. in Center City to the
law firm of Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall
& Furman, PC. Cohen Seglias was represented
by A Margolis Realty Co. The firm’s new
office occupies the entire 19th floor, and
more than doubles their previous location
at 1515 Market St. Although the firm moved
only blocks away. United Plaza was worth
the trip. Originally built in 1975, United
Plaza’s lobby and landscaping were extensively
renovated, spurring its 2004 “the office
building of the year” award for best renovation
by the Building Owners and Managers Association.
As the firm has quadrupled in size in less
than 10 years, United Plaza’s large floorplate
and virtually column free interior has allowed
the firm to expand their space, yet remain
contiguous on one floor. In addition to
breathing room for its 40 plus lawyers,
the new space has allowed the firm to expand
their copy center and includes eleven conference
rooms. The largest conference room is wireless
enabled and has videoconferencing capability
to facilitate virtual meetings and training
sessions. As an added bonus, the 19th floor
also offers spectacular views of the city,
as the high window line is free of obstructions
and enables glass to run from floor to ceiling.
Cohen Seglias is a leading firm in construction
law and provides a full range of construction
law services. In addition, the firm’s labor
and employment group counsels management
in labor and employment relations. The business
practice group offers services in real estate,
commercial transactions, tax and estates
and commercial litigation, along with specialties
in elder law, special needs and guardianships.
In addition to its Philadelphia office, Cohen
Seglias maintains locations in Haddon Heights,
NJ, Wilmington, DE, Pittsburgh, PA and Harrisburg,
PA, which was recently opened in 2004. Dean
Geis, Tom Hummel and Tom Bond of NAI Geis Realty Group, Inc. represented
the landlord, IPC US REIT. Stephen Blau and
Andrew Margolis of A Margolis Realty Co. represented
Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman, PC.
