New additions
The New Holland Concrete Co., a subsidiary
of Martin Limestone Inc. Co., bought land
at 121 E. Ridge Road and Route 1 in West Nottingham,
Chester County, for a new ready-mix concrete
plant.
The company bought 29 acres
that included a 30,000-square-foot building
from Harmac Development of Florida.
Asides from the concrete plant, the company
plans to use the site for a building materials
store. The site will serve commercial and
residential markets in southeastern Pennsylvania,
Delaware and Maryland.
This marks the third concrete plant for
the company, which employs about 150 people
at its Pennsylvania faclities in New Holland
and Denver.
The plant will have the capacity to produce
150 yards of concrete an hour.
Martin has been around since 1933, having
been established with a single limestone
quarry in the Weaverland Valley in Lancaster
County. The company serves not only the
commercial industries, such as contractors,
but also farmers, Little League and golf
course groundskeepers.
NAI Geis Realty Group Inc. represented both parties in the real estate
transaction.
