Raising the Barr at One Belmont
Research Company Takes 39,382-SF in Bala Cynwyd

New York-based Barr Pharmaceuticals recently leased 39,382 square feet on the 10th and 11th floors at One Belmont Avenue located in Bala Cynwyd, PA.

The company, which manufactures, markets, and distributes more than 100 pharmaceutical products related to female healthcare, oncology, cardiovascular and anti-infectives, will begin moving its administrative offices into the newly remodeled space of the 12-story office building this September, more than tripling its size from the 13,038 square feet formerly leased at the One Bala Plaza building.

Known as the GSB Building, One Belmont is located near Route 1 near I-76 (the Schuylkill Expressway). Renovations at the 44-year old, 230,000-square-foot facility include a new lobby and building systems, exterior signage and lighting, and enhanced lobby finishes.

James Eaton, NAI Geis Realty Group, and Cushman & Wakefield’s New York office represented the tenant in the long-term lease. James Watson of Maguire & Partners and Gene McHale of Beacon Commercial Real Estate, in partnership with CB Richard Ellis, Philadelphia, represented the landlord, City Line Investors.
